Cranfield University Degree Certificate & Transcript for Qatar: Qatari Consulate Legalisation

Ginkgo Advisory

Preparing a Cranfield University degree certificate for use in Qatar requires attention to the academic supporting documents as well as the UK authentication stages. For educational documents submitted through the Qatari Consulate in London, the degree certificate or diploma must be accompanied by its transcript and a cover letter from the issuing educational institution. Each of these three documents must be separately certified by a UK solicitor or notary public and receive its own UK FCDO apostille before submission together for consular legalisation.

Ginkgo Advisory offers a London-based service covering our solicitor\’s certification, individual UK FCDO apostilles and Qatari Consulate legalisation. This process is also commonly called Qatar Embassy attestation in London or Cranfield degree attestation for Qatar.

Three educational documents, each prepared separately

Document UK preparation Consular submission
Cranfield degree certificate or diploma Separate UK solicitor or notary certification and an individual FCDO apostille Submit together with the transcript and institution\’s letter
Supporting academic transcript Separate UK solicitor or notary certification and an individual FCDO apostille Submit together with the certificate and institution\’s letter
Cover letter from the issuing educational institution Separate UK solicitor or notary certification and an individual FCDO apostille Submit together with the certificate and transcript

Documents notarised and apostilled as a bundle are not accepted under any circumstances for this submission. Each document must be apostilled separately. One certification or apostille covering a combined certificate, transcript and letter does not satisfy the requirement. The three individually prepared documents can be sent in the same application; they must retain their separate certification and apostilles.

See the Qatari mission\’s educational document guidance and our Qatar Embassy legalisation service for the surrounding educational submission process.

Cranfield certificates, transcripts and academic records

Start with Cranfield awards, transcripts and authentication when identifying the official documents for your award. The published university services distinguish the following records and procedures:

  • Registry offers certificate authentication and standard award-confirmation statements without charge.
  • Older academic information may be limited; bespoke statements depend on records held.

Preparing your Cranfield records for Qatar

For Cranfield, explain whether you need a standard award statement or a bespoke letter addressing Qatar\’s additional fields. Confirm which historical records remain available before asking the university to certify details it cannot establish. The institution\’s authentication service and the solicitor\’s individual certification serve different stages of the proposed submission.

When requesting the Qatar covering letter from Cranfield, identify the exact programme, campus and study period. Ask the issuing office to address the full checklist below. A standard award-confirmation or medium-of-instruction letter should be checked for the required content before certification.

What must the institution’s Qatar cover letter confirm?

The supporting letter must be issued by the educational institution and confirm every point below for the qualification being submitted:

  • Authenticity: that the qualification and certificate are genuine.
  • Mode of study: whether the course was full-time or part-time.
  • Type of study: whether teaching was face-to-face or on-site, distance learning, online or e-learning.
  • Study location: the place where the course was studied.
  • Examination location: the place where examinations were held.
  • Award title and level: the full issued qualification, such as BA, BSc, a named master\’s award or doctorate.
  • Course length: the duration of the programme.
  • Actual study dates: the start and end dates of attendance, rather than only the award or graduation date.

A letter from the applicant, employer or document agent cannot replace these institutional confirmations. Check the letter before certification, especially if a standard template omits examination location, delivery format or actual study dates. The university\’s letter must itself be separately certified and apostilled.

The academic cover letter is distinct from the Consulate\’s application covering form. Both should be identified correctly when the submission is assembled.

Our solicitor certification and UK FCDO apostille service

  1. Review the academic documents. Send readable copies of the certificate, transcript, institutional letter and the Qatar recipient\’s instructions. Tell us about previous legalisation, missing records, overseas study or online delivery before the UK preparation begins.
  2. Certify each document separately. Our UK solicitor reviews the documents and available official verification evidence and prepares the appropriate individual certification. A true-copy statement confirms the copy against the document examined; any additional authenticity statement must reflect the checks actually undertaken.
  3. Obtain individual FCDO apostilles. Each of the three educational documents receives its own apostille. The FCDO authenticates the relevant signature, stamp or seal; it does not determine whether a qualification meets Qatar\’s academic recognition or employment criteria.
  4. Arrange Qatari Consulate legalisation in London. After the separate UK preparation is complete, the documents are submitted together for consular assessment and legalisation, subject to any additional evidence requested.

The GOV.UK apostille guidance explains the UK authentication stage. The UK guidance on legalisation for Qatar also describes the London embassy stage and onward Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) attestation in Qatar. Confirm the later submission requirements with the Qatar employer, adviser or receiving authority.

Identify the issuer and origin of every document if the course involved an overseas campus or partner. A UK university award does not make every locally issued supporting record a UK document. The certification and authentication route for any foreign-issued record needs to be established separately.

Previously legalised degrees or transcripts

If a degree certificate or transcript has already been legalised, submit a copy of that previously legalised document with the new educational document requiring legalisation. Include the earlier apostille and consular endorsement in the copy so the preparation history can be reviewed.

For example, where the certificate has already been legalised and a new transcript is being added, provide the copy of the legalised certificate with the new document. Explain which items are already complete before requesting a quotation.

Distance learning, online study and qualification eligibility

Do not assume that an online or distance-learning qualification is eligible for Qatar legalisation. The London mission\’s published guidance excludes these awards but describes an exception for postgraduate MSc and PhD degrees. That wording is not automatic approval for a particular programme and should not be assumed to include every master\’s or doctoral award title.

For distance-learning, online or mixed-delivery study, obtain written confirmation of eligibility for the exact qualification before paying for certification and apostilles. The institution\’s letter must disclose the actual study format and locations accurately. An apostille does not resolve an academic eligibility issue.

Other requirements, fees and timing

For bachelor\’s degree cases, the mission\’s published guidance also lists evidence of UK study-period immigration permission or a UK/EU passport. Establish the evidence and document format relevant to the applicant\’s circumstances, including any digital immigration record where applicable.

A Qatar work visa, employment, professional registration or further-study application may involve additional checks by the receiving authority. Obtain its written instructions about names, translation, qualification recognition and later local attestation before commissioning the completed document set.

Request an itemised quotation for solicitor certification, the separate FCDO apostilles, consular legalisation and delivery. University retrieval, record verification and each official processing stage contribute to the timetable. Extra academic or professional records need to be identified individually rather than added to a combined apostille.

Frequently asked questions: Cranfield degree legalisation for Qatar

Can your solicitor certify my Cranfield degree for Qatar?

Our UK solicitor can review the official academic documents and provide appropriate individual certification for the proposed submission. The certificate, transcript and institutional covering letter then each need their own FCDO apostille before the consular stage.

Are both the degree certificate and transcript required?

Yes. This educational consular route requires the qualification certificate, supporting transcript and institution\’s cover letter together. If the institution does not issue a conventional transcript for your award, establish an acceptable alternative with the Consulate before proceeding.

Can the certificate, transcript and letter share one apostille?

No. Bundled documents are not accepted. Each educational document must be separately certified and apostilled before the three documents are submitted together for legalisation.

Does the institution’s supporting letter also need an apostille?

Yes. The university letter is one of the three required educational documents. It needs separate UK solicitor or notary certification and its own FCDO apostille.

Are solicitor-certified copies or original certificates used?

The mission\’s published instructions allow original documents or true copies, with individual certification and apostilles. Review the precise academic records and the recipient\’s instructions before selecting the version to prepare. Digital sharing or a downloaded PDF should not be assumed to establish the accepted consular format.

Is an FCDO apostille sufficient on its own?

For this route, the UK apostille is followed by Qatari Consulate legalisation in London. Establish the onward MOFA and receiving-authority requirements in Qatar as part of planning the completed submission.

Does legalisation guarantee a Qatar work visa or degree recognition?

Legalisation completes a document authentication stage. The employer, immigration authority, educational authority or professional regulator assesses the separate application and its qualification requirements.
