If you need to use a Keele University degree certificate, transcript, HEAR, or digital academic document overseas, the safest approach is to choose the correct verification and legalisation route from the start.
Keele University is a UK government-recognised degree-awarding university. For third-party degree checks, Keele uses HEDD as an exclusive verification channel and requires its own Keele University consent form for those enquiries. Keele also provides HEAR access through Gradintelligence for eligible students, and it now offers digital degree certificates through Advanced Secure Technologies for students whose awards fall within the relevant rollout period.
For many overseas authorities, it is not enough to simply show the original document. They may ask for a proper chain such as:
verification → solicitor authentication / certification → FCDO apostille → embassy legalisation / attestation
The right route depends on what document you hold, when you graduated, and what the receiving authority abroad actually requires.
Common Keele University verification routes
1) HEDD verification
Keele University is listed as an exclusive HEDD partner. That means third-party degree verification is obtained through HEDD, and Keele requires the Keele University Education Verification Consent Form to be submitted with the request. HEDD can be used to verify whether the person studied there, the award, the grade, and attendance dates. HEDD also states that its service is for third-party enquirers, not graduates verifying themselves in the ordinary way.
2) Gradintelligence HEAR sharing
Keele states that eligible undergraduate students graduating from July 2014 onwards — except certain medical and veterinary degrees — and eligible postgraduate students graduating from January 2026 onwards can receive a HEAR through Gradintelligence. Keele describes the HEAR as an extended academic transcript that records academic achievement and some co-curricular activity.
3) Advanced Secure Technologies digital certificate sharing
Keele states that it works with Advanced Secure Technologies to issue digital graduation certificates. Students with awards from June 2025 onwards can access the digital certificate service, and graduates from July 2025 or later can request a physical certificate through the online portal. Keele says the digital credential can be securely shared with third parties, with the graduate controlling access.
Why solicitor certification wording matters
This is where many people take the wrong path.
Some agents or solicitors only use wording along the lines of:
“certified to be a true copy of the document presented to me”
or
“certified to be a printout presented to me”
That kind of wording may be too weak for some overseas uses because it only confirms what was shown to the solicitor. It does not properly address the authenticity verification route behind the document.
At Ginkgo Advisory, we aim for a stronger and more structured approach wherever appropriate. Depending on the document path, we can build solicitor certification around supporting checks such as:
- HEDD verification
- Gradintelligence HEAR sharing
- Advanced Secure Technologies digital certificate sharing
- supporting university-issued records where available
So the certification is not just a bare copy certification. It can reflect that the document path was checked against an appropriate verification source before solicitor certification is completed.
Solicitor authentication and solicitor certification for Keele University documents
We can assist with:
- Solicitor authentication
- Solicitor certification
- certification wording that goes beyond a simple “true copy” statement where the evidence supports it
- review of whether your Keele document is better supported by HEDD, HEAR, or digital certificate sharing
- preparation for FCDO apostille
- embassy legalisation / attestation where the destination country still requires it
This matters because different receiving authorities ask for different standards. Some will accept a properly certified and apostilled supporting academic document. Others will want a more traceable verification chain first.
FCDO apostille and 2 working day UK apostille
Once the solicitor stage is complete, we can arrange UK apostille through the FCDO.
Where suitable, Ginkgo Advisory can offer a 2 working day UK apostille service. This is often helpful when you are working to a visa, employment, professional registration, academic recognition, or relocation deadline.
Embassy legalisation / attestation
If the destination country is not relying solely on the Hague Apostille system, you may also need embassy legalisation or attestation after apostille. We can help you plan that sequence properly so you do not waste time or certify the wrong document first.
How Ginkgo Advisory can help
At Ginkgo Advisory, we help clients handle the full process for Keele University academic documents, including:
- identifying the best verification route
- reviewing whether HEDD, Gradintelligence HEAR, or Advanced Secure Technologies digital certificate sharing is the strongest starting point
- arranging solicitor authentication
- preparing solicitor certification with stronger authenticity-focused wording where appropriate
- arranging FCDO apostille
- offering 2 working day UK apostille where suitable
- handling embassy legalisation / attestation if required
The key difference is simple: we do not aim to be just another firm that merely certifies a printout handed over by the client. We focus on the underlying verification path first, then build the certification and legalisation route around that evidence.
Practical point
Before starting, always confirm:
- which country the document is going to
- what the document is for
- whether the receiving authority wants degree certificate, transcript, HEAR, digital credential, or a combination
- whether they require apostille only or apostille plus embassy legalisation
That usually determines the best Keele University document route from the outset.
If handled properly, the process is usually much smoother, faster, and more defensible.
