A clear route for using your Falmouth University degree overseas
If you need to use a Falmouth University degree certificate overseas, a simple copy is often not enough. Many employers, visa authorities, embassies, and professional bodies ask for a stronger document trail. They usually want verification first, solicitor certification second, apostille third, and embassy legalisation if required. This route creates a clearer authenticity trail and helps reduce the risk of rejection later.
HEDD verification for Falmouth University
Falmouth University is a UK government-recognised degree-awarding institution, and HEDD provides online degree data verification for this university. HEDD states that Falmouth University is an exclusive partner of HEDD, so degree verifications must be obtained through the HEDD website. HEDD also states that the university accepts only the HEDD consent form. It accepts hand-signed and digitally signed forms, including Adobe Sign, DocuSign, and freehand digital signatures, but it does not accept typed signatures. HEDD can check whether a candidate is a current or past student, the award given, the grade attained, and the attendance dates.
A point to note for older Falmouth University awards
HEDD states that until 1993, awards were made by CNAA. It also states that, after that, the validating body was the University of Plymouth. Falmouth received degree-awarding powers in 2004 as University College Falmouth, and the institution was renamed Falmouth University in December 2012. This award history can matter when you assess the best verification and certification route for older qualifications.
Why the wording of solicitor certification matters
Some firms only use wording such as “this is a printout presented to me” or “certified true copy of the document shown to me” when they certify a document. That wording may work in some low-risk cases, but it often falls short of what overseas authorities actually require. A stronger route links the solicitor certification to the underlying verification result. This approach creates a clearer evidential chain and shows that the degree has been copied and independently checked through a recognised verification source.
UK FCDO apostille and embassy legalisation
After verification and solicitor certification, you will usually need the UK FCDO apostille. If the destination country requires more than an apostille, you may also need embassy legalisation or consular attestation. The destination country, the purpose of use, the authority’s document requirements, and any translation requirement will determine the exact route.

We can check the HEDD route, arrange stronger solicitor certification linked to the verification result, handle UK FCDO apostille, and assist with embassy legalisation where required. We can also arrange a 2 working day UK apostille service where suitable.
