University College Chichester was a UK government-recognised institution that awarded qualifications between 1999 and 2005. It became the University of Chichester in 2005, which now verifies its qualifications.

Ginkgo Advisory can arrange HEDD verification, enhanced solicitor certification, FCDO apostille and embassy legalisation. A 2 working day express FCDO apostille option is available after verification and solicitor certification are complete.

Quick answer

University College Chichester qualifications can be verified through HEDD.

The usual route is:

HEDD verification → enhanced solicitor certification → FCDO apostille → embassy legalisation where required

The current HEDD enquiry fee is £31. However, the University does not verify current students or provide attendance dates through this service.

HEDD verification requirements

HEDD can verify whether the submitted award, course, classification and award year match the University’s records.

The University only confirms information entered in the request. It will not provide missing details. Applicants should therefore enter the correct:

  • qualification type;
  • full course name;
  • classification or grade; and
  • year of award.

The consent form must name Qualification Check. A signed copy must be uploaded as a PDF, JPG, PNG or TIF.

Current students and attendance dates

Current students cannot be verified through HEDD. They should request an official student-status letter directly from the University.

The University also does not provide attendance dates through its graduate verification service. An official transcript or another university document may be needed when the receiving authority requires detailed study dates.

Transcripts and replacement certificates

Former students can request academic transcripts directly from the University of Chichester.

A basic transcript may be requested by email. The University also offers a full academic transcript, including the relevant programme handbook, for £20.

Duplicate certificates issued from 1993 onwards are currently available for £30. University College Chichester awards fall within this period.

Depending on the overseas authority’s requirements, the applicant may need:

  • the original certificate;
  • an official transcript;
  • a duplicate certificate;
  • a university verification;
  • a solicitor-certified copy; or
  • a combined document pack.

Solicitor verification and certification

A basic solicitor-certified copy confirms that the copy matches the document presented to the solicitor.

It does not independently confirm that the candidate obtained the qualification.

Our enhanced service reviews the document against reliable evidence, such as:

  • a HEDD verification;
  • an official transcript;
  • a duplicate certificate;
  • a university award confirmation; or
  • another secure academic record.

Where the evidence supports it, our solicitor can provide certification with authenticity confirmation.

FCDO apostille

After verification and solicitor certification, the document can proceed to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.

An apostille authenticates the relevant UK signature, stamp or seal. It does not independently verify the academic qualification.

The recommended process is:

academic verification → enhanced solicitor certification → FCDO apostille

Our 2 working day express FCDO apostille option covers the apostille stage only. It excludes HEDD processing, university document production, courier delivery and embassy legalisation.

Embassy legalisation

Documents intended for a destination outside the Hague Apostille Convention may require further embassy or consular legalisation.

A typical route is:

solicitor certification → FCDO legalisation → embassy legalisation

The receiving authority may also request a transcript, university letter, certified translation or supporting identity document.

What to send us

Please provide:

  • a clear certificate scan;
  • the transcript, if available;
  • the candidate’s name during study;
  • exact course and qualification;
  • classification or grade;
  • award year;
  • student number, if known;
  • destination country; and
  • receiving authority’s requirements.

We will confirm the correct verification, certification and legalisation route.
