University College of Estate Management Degree Verification and Apostille

University College of Estate Management, commonly known as UCEM, is a recognised UK higher education provider with permanent degree-awarding powers.

Since June 2025, it has used University of the Built Environment as its public and trading name. UCEM qualifications and certificates remain valid after the name change.

The online request may require:

UCEM and University of the Built Environment

The institution began as the College of Estate Management in 1919. It later became University College of Estate Management.

University of the Built Environment launched as its new public name in June 2025. The institution states that its accreditations, academic standards and existing qualifications are unaffected by the change.

Awards made before the name change may therefore show:

• College of Estate Management;
• University College of Estate Management;
• UCEM; or
• University of the Built Environment.

Check the awarding body

UCEM first obtained its own taught degree-awarding powers in 2012.

Before that date, some programmes were validated by:

• the University of Reading;
• the Open University; or
• another partner or awarding institution.

The awarding body printed on the certificate determines who should verify the award or issue a replacement document.

Certificates, transcripts and academic records

A basic solicitor-certified copy confirms that the copy matches the document presented to the solicitor.

It does not independently prove that the qualification appears in official university records.
