Need Companies House identity verification and are based in Grenada? If GOV.UK One Login cannot complete your check, Ginkgo Advisory offers a solicitor-led ACSP alternative for suitable UK company directors and individual PSCs. Express same-day verification is available for eligible cases, subject to appointment availability, complete evidence and successful checks.
Can you verify without completing GOV.UK One Login?
Yes. A registered Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP) can carry out the Companies House check instead. You do not have to exhaust the free route first. The direct government service remains a free option when it works for your circumstances; our ACSP service provides paid professional assistance, with the required verification standard still applying. See the official verification routes and the ACSP route.
For applicants in Grenada, the practical questions are which documents you hold, where you currently live and which step has failed. Nationality alone does not determine app compatibility. A qualifying biometric passport from any country may work in the government app. Remote ACSP checks may avoid a UK visit, where the evidence and required checks can be completed.
Why GOV.UK Companies House identity verification may not work
1. Your document is not supported by the app
A document can be genuine and useful for identification without being supported by this particular digital route. The app accepts specified documents, including a current biometric passport. A non-chipped passport, a national identity card or a foreign driving licence is not automatically on its list. Check the official document requirements before repeating an unsuccessful attempt.
2. The chip, photo or face scan cannot be completed
Document photography, passport-chip reading, face scanning and the handover between the app and browser are separate steps. Follow the app guidance, check that your device meets the published requirements, and record the exact error. A technical failure is not proof that your identity is invalid. Use GOV.UK One Login support for account or app faults; we can assess whether a different Companies House verification route is suitable.
3. Security questions or personal details do not match
Limited UK financial records can make the security-question route difficult. For that route, names must match the records being checked, including relevant middle names or initials. Review actual name changes, transliteration differences and previous details rather than altering information just to obtain a match. The official security-question guidance explains what to do after an unsuccessful attempt. Other free routes depend on your residence, documents and circumstances; they are not available identically to every overseas applicant.
4. The problem is account access, not identity evidence
A sign-in problem, inaccessible email address or interruption between the app and website is different from a rejected identity check. Follow the official account-recovery or support process. An ACSP can provide a separate Companies House verification route, but cannot reset your GOV.UK password or make your identity verified for every other government service. A government-system outage can also affect an ACSP submission.
5. You already have a personal code, but it will not link
Do not assume you need to pay for verification again. Check the code you entered, the email address used and the date of birth held on the register. Incorrect verification details may need correction by the original ACSP. Follow the Companies House personal-code guidance and identify whether the failure is in verification or in linking an existing verified identity to a role.
How Ginkgo Advisory helps applicants in Grenada
Our legal consultant is a practising solicitor in England and Wales registered with Companies House as an ACSP. The service combines a review of the actual identity evidence with appropriate remote checks, rather than simply asking you to repeat the same failed app step. We confirm the proposed route, evidence requirements and fee before proceeding. Suitability and service acceptance are assessed individually.
- Tell us your UK company role, residence, company number if available, deadline and the exact stage where GOV.UK stopped.
- Use the agreed secure process to provide your evidence, full name and former names, date of birth, current home address, 12-month address history and accessible email address.
- Complete the document and identity checks, including a live remote appointment where required. We may request further evidence to resolve discrepancies.
- After successful verification, the ACSP submits the required confirmation to Companies House. Companies House sends the personal code to the email address supplied.
Start with our solicitor-led Companies House identity-verification service. Do not send passwords, one-time login codes or unredacted identity evidence through a public comment or unsecured form.
Which documents should you prepare?
For person-led checks under Option 2, Companies House requires two documents: either two photographic documents from Group A, or one Group A photographic document and one Group B supporting document. A person living outside the UK must provide at least one government-issued document. A qualifying passport and a qualifying bank statement can be a possible combination, but we must assess the actual evidence, authenticity, validity and any applicable exceptions. Cancelled or replaced documents cannot be used.
Technology-led Option 1 has a different permitted-document list and validation requirements. The app list, Option 1 and Option 2 are not interchangeable. Follow the Companies House identity-verification standard; do not assume that a scan, notarised copy or apostille alone completes the ACSP check.
Grenada document checklist: For evidence connected with Grenada, distinguish the issuing country from your current residence. Give us the document type, issuing authority, expiry date and any name differences across records. A domestic identification document and a biometric passport may have different treatment in the available routes.
A brief PRADO reference for your documents
Use the Grenada PRADO profile to compare the relevant photographic specimen and security features. A database entry is a reference for assessment, not an automatic app acceptance or a guarantee that every document model qualifies.
Express same-day verification: what is included?
Express same-day service is available for eligible cases when there is an appointment, all required evidence is ready and every check can be completed satisfactorily. Tell us your deadline and time zone at the start. We will confirm availability and scope rather than promise approval before reviewing the evidence.
The service concerns our review, verification and submission where possible. Companies House controls personal-code delivery and its own systems; same-day receipt is not guaranteed. Additional checks, record corrections or a service interruption may require more time. Verification also does not automatically file your confirmation statement or complete a separate PSC notification.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use an ACSP without a biometric passport?
Potentially. ACSP document rules differ from the government app. We must review the exact documents and confirm that an approved route and all other checks can be completed. No passport, card or PRADO entry guarantees acceptance on its own.
Must I fail GOV.UK One Login before using an ACSP?
No. You can choose a registered ACSP directly. The government route remains free when suitable, while our professional ACSP service is a paid alternative subject to the required checks.
Does a failed app check mean an ACSP will also refuse me?
Not necessarily. A technical or document-compatibility issue may be resolved by a suitable alternative route. Authenticity concerns, unresolved identity discrepancies or insufficient evidence cannot simply be ignored.
What happens after I receive my Companies House personal code?
Usually you verify once and use the same personal code for your relevant roles. You must still provide it through each required director or PSC process. Check the applicable deadline rather than assuming verification alone completes your filing obligations.
Check the official timing and role requirements for your appointment or company.
Request a solicitor-led ACSP assessment
Contact Ginkgo Advisory with your UK company role, deadline, residence and the document you plan to use.
