The useful starting point is the actual certificate and its reference, because ITC First’s online checking route does not cover every numbering format in the same way. These areas have different purposes, so an outdoor first aid award should not be substituted for a workplace or trainer qualification with a different title.

Record the exact award and any framework or regulatory information shown on the certificate. Check the individual qualification’s status instead of assuming that the awarding organisation’s recognition applies to every training product. If the client trained outside the UK, keep the delivery country and centre details clear. A UK awarding organisation does not establish that the learner attended a UK institution.

Request the replacement format that is actually needed

Its published instructions direct applicants to send the completed form to mail@itcfirst.org.uk and distinguish paper, electronic and combined replacement options. Check the current form and charges when applying.

State whether the document is missing, damaged or needs an amendment, and provide the information requested to match the learner’s record. Before ordering both versions, ask the Saudi recipient which format it will review and whether it needs a direct verification response as well. Keep an unchanged copy of the original electronic certificate if available, together with the correspondence confirming any authorised correction.

Use the correct ITC First verification route

The ITC First certificate checker is for certificate numbers beginning with WB. It asks users to enter the name exactly as printed. For other certificate number formats, ITC First directs users to contact its team instead of using that online form.

An unsuccessful online search therefore needs interpretation: first check the numbering format and spelling, then use the appropriate support route. Do not treat the absence of a result as proof that an older document is invalid. Keep any stated expiry or renewal date visible, and distinguish confirmation of the original award from evidence of current competence. The Saudi employer or reviewing authority still decides whether the specific qualification satisfies its purpose.

Identify the qualification before choosing a Saudi procedure

For ITC First documents, record the complete award title, candidate or learner number, qualification number where applicable, award date and issuing body. Also identify the teaching or assessment centre, country of study and delivery mode. A UK awarding body does not establish that the holder studied in the UK. A centre-issued attendance certificate and a qualification issued by the awarding organisation may be different documents.

The official qualification register helps check an individual regulated award. Recognition of an organisation does not mean every qualification, international product, endorsed course or membership certificate it offers has the same regulatory status. Keep the exact qualification title and relevant dates in the enquiry; current branding may differ from the issuer shown on an older certificate.

An RQF Level 6 diploma and a bachelor’s degree are different awards, as are an RQF Level 7 diploma and a master’s degree. A framework level describes difficulty, not identical content or award size. If a diploma contributed to a later university top-up, keep the separate university degree certificate and transcript available. Mosadaqa, QVP and equivalency: which applies to this award?

Mosadaqa’s official description includes Diploma and Higher Diploma alongside degree categories. That does not establish eligibility for every UK awarding-organisation qualification. Ask the service or the instructed Saudi recipient whether the exact issuer and award can be submitted, under which category, and what evidence it needs about the course and study mode.

QVP, commonly called the Qualification Verification Programme, is associated with the HRSD Professional Accreditation framework and occupation-related verification. It is distinct from practical skills assessment under SVP. The relevant occupation and application route matter; a certificate suitable for an employer’s training record may not satisfy the qualification requirement for a particular Saudi work visa, work permit or Iqama category.

Formal Saudi Ministry of Education degree equivalency is a separate academic-recognition service. School-certificate assessment and professional registration also have their own purposes. For GCSE, A level or other school examinations, establish whether the request concerns school admission, school-certificate equivalency or another purpose rather than assuming a university-degree route. Where relevant, bodies such as the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) or Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) may request additional evidence. UK professional membership or chartered status does not itself grant a Saudi professional licence.

Are both Mosadaqa and QVP needed, and which comes first?

There is no universal sequence established here for ITC First qualifications. Give the employer or responsible Saudi adviser the exact award, occupation, study country and intended use. Ask whether Mosadaqa, QVP, both, or another check applies, and whether one result is a prerequisite for another. Clarify whether source verification can begin while document preparation is under way. Do not treat an agency’s usual workflow as an instruction applicable to every award.

Do the certificate and transcript or results record both need apostilles?

First establish whether the recipient needs a transcript, unit results, exam history, certified statement of results, verification response or professional-status letter. Some awarding bodies do not issue a university-style academic transcript. A request for a results record does not, by itself, establish that this record needs a separate apostille.

An issuer’s PDF, digital badge or QR verification page is not itself an e-Apostille. Under the Apostille Convention, a valid e-Apostille cannot be refused solely because it is electronic. Separately, establish the recipient’s submission method and retain the original signed electronic file; a printout or screenshot does not preserve the digital signature.

Saudi Embassy, Cultural Mission and MOFA requests

The Apostille Convention has applied to Saudi Arabia since 7 December 2022. For documents within its scope, an apostille replaces diplomatic or consular legalisation. Saudi Embassy stamping should not be presented as an automatic additional step after every UK apostille.
