HEDD cannot verify many short or external Oxford programmes, including some Executive Leadership Programmes.
Alternative verification may need to come from:
- Saïd Business School;
- Oxford Lifelong Learning;
- the Department for Continuing Education;
- the programme provider; or
- another awarding body named on the document.

Oxford eDocuments and direct verification
Students and alumni may also have access to secure University of Oxford eDocuments.
These may include:
- degree certificates;
- degree confirmation letters;
- academic transcripts;
- on-course transcripts; and
- diploma supplements.
Solicitors and notaries may also submit certain verification requests directly to Oxford’s Degree Conferrals Team.
Solicitor verification and certification
A basic certified true copy confirms that the copy matches the document presented to the solicitor.
It does not automatically prove that Oxford issued the document or that the candidate obtained the stated qualification.

FCDO apostille
After verification and solicitor certification, the document can proceed to the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.
An apostille confirms the relevant UK signature, stamp or seal. It does not independently verify the degree.
The recommended sequence is:

The receiving authority may also request an official transcript, university letter, certified translation or supporting identity documents.
