If you need to use a TQUK certificate overseas, it is important to follow the correct route from the start.
TQUK stands for Training Qualifications UK. It is an Ofqual-recognised Awarding Organisation, and its site says it is also part of the AQA Group, having been acquired in December 2022. TQUK offers qualifications, endorsed courses, functional skills, and international services, and says it works across a wide range of technical education settings.
At Ginkgo Advisory, we help clients handle the process clearly, correctly, and efficiently.
About TQUK certificates
TQUK is not a university. It is a UK awarding organisation. TQUK’s own guidance says that if a qualification is regulated, the certificate should show the Ofqual logo; if it does not, it may be one of TQUK’s endorsed, non-regulated qualifications. TQUK also explains that its regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).
For overseas use, this distinction matters. TQUK says Ofqual-regulated qualifications are generally recognised internationally, but acceptance for a specific job, course, or authority abroad still depends on the receiving organisation’s own rules.
How Ginkgo Advisory can help
1. Verification directly with TQUK
For a TQUK certificate, the safest starting point is usually verification directly with TQUK.
TQUK states that certificate authenticity can usually be checked through its online Verify Certificate tool using the learner’s first name, last name, and certification number. If the certificate cannot be verified online, TQUK says users should contact operations@tquk.org. TQUK also says it issues digital e-certificates by default and can provide a physical hard copy on request.
We can help you prepare the case properly, including:
- checking the TQUK certificate and supporting records
- helping structure the verification trail directly with TQUK
- checking whether the certificate is regulated or endorsed / non-regulated
- preparing the file for the next legalisation stage
2. Solicitor authentication linked to authenticity verification
This is where our approach is different.
Many agents or solicitors only issue wording such as “certified true copy of a document presented to me” or “this is a printout presented to me.” That is often weaker than what overseas authorities actually want.
At Ginkgo Advisory, where appropriate, we can arrange solicitor certification linked to an independent authenticity trail, based on the TQUK verification route and supporting records. That means the certification is built on more than a simple copy check. It is often stronger and more suitable for international use.
3. FCDO apostille
Once the document package has been properly prepared, we can arrange UK apostille through the FCDO.
We can also offer a 2 working day UK apostille service in many cases, subject to document readiness and submission timing.
4. Embassy legalisation or attestation
If the destination country requires more than apostille alone, we can also help arrange embassy legalisation or consular attestation after the FCDO stage.
Why clients use Ginkgo Advisory
We do more than process documents.
We help clients build the right verification and authenticity trail for international use, including:
- identifying the correct TQUK verification route
- checking whether the certificate is Ofqual-regulated or endorsed / non-regulated
- arranging stronger solicitor authentication wording
- coordinating FCDO apostille
- supporting embassy legalisation or attestation
This is especially useful when the receiving authority wants more than a simple certified copy.
