Trinity College is a constituent college of the University of Oxford. The University awards and verifies qualifications obtained by Trinity College students.

Ginkgo Advisory can assist with HEDD verification, enhanced solicitor certification, FCDO apostille and embassy legalisation. A 2 working day express FCDO apostille option is available after verification and certification are complete.

Quick answer

Trinity College Oxford qualifications can be verified through the University of Oxford.

The usual route is:

Oxford degree verification → enhanced solicitor certification → FCDO apostille → embassy legalisation where required

HEDD can confirm current or former student status, the qualification awarded, the grade or classification and attendance dates. The current degree enquiry fee is £47.

Oxford consent-form requirements

Applicants must use the University of Oxford Consent to Disclosure form.

The form should name both:

  • HEDD; and
  • the organisation submitting the request, such as Ginkgo Advisory.

For the HEDD route, Oxford requires a genuine wet-ink signature. Typed names, handwriting fonts, pasted signatures and non-verifiable electronic signatures are not accepted.

A scanned or photographed copy of the hand-signed form may be uploaded as a PDF, JPG, PNG or TIF.

Current students should also provide their course start year and expected completion year.

Direct Oxford verification

Solicitors and notaries may also request verification directly from Oxford’s Degree Conferrals Team.

Candidate consent must accompany every request. Oxford currently waives its standard direct-verification fee for solicitors, notaries, government bodies and higher education institutions. Commercial organisations normally pay £30.

Ginkgo Advisory can assess whether HEDD or direct Oxford verification provides the better route for the intended overseas use.

Short and external Oxford courses

HEDD cannot verify many short or external Oxford programmes, including Executive Leadership Programmes.

Alternative confirmation may need to come from:

  • Saïd Business School;
  • Oxford Lifelong Learning;
  • the Department for Continuing Education;
  • the programme provider; or
  • another awarding body shown on the document.

We review the course and certificate wording before starting verification.

Solicitor verification and certification

A basic solicitor-certified copy confirms that the copy matches the document presented to the solicitor.

It does not independently confirm that Oxford issued the document or that the candidate obtained the stated qualification.

Our enhanced service reviews the document against official evidence, such as:

  • a HEDD verification result;
  • direct Oxford confirmation;
  • an Oxford eDocument;
  • a degree confirmation letter; or
  • an official academic transcript.

Where the evidence supports it, our solicitor can provide certification with authenticity confirmation.

FCDO apostille

After verification and solicitor certification, the document can proceed to the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.

An apostille authenticates the relevant UK signature, stamp or seal. It does not independently verify the Oxford qualification.

The recommended sequence is:

academic verification → enhanced solicitor certification → FCDO apostille

Our 2 working day express FCDO apostille option covers the apostille stage only. It excludes HEDD processing, Oxford verification, courier delivery and embassy legalisation.

Embassy legalisation

Documents intended for a non-Hague destination may require additional embassy or consular legalisation.

A typical route is:

solicitor certification → FCDO legalisation → embassy legalisation

The receiving authority may also request an official transcript, Oxford confirmation letter, certified translation or identity document.

What to send us

Please provide:

  • a clear scan of the academic document;
  • the candidate’s name during study;
  • the Trinity College affiliation;
  • the course and qualification;
  • attendance dates;
  • graduation year;
  • student number, if known;
  • destination country; and
  • receiving authority’s requirements.

We will identify the correct verification, certification and legalisation route.
