If you need to use a University of Bradford degree certificate, transcript, HEAR, or other academic document overseas, the key is to choose the right route from the start.

University of Bradford is a UK government-recognised degree-awarding institution. In practice, the correct path will depend on when the award was issued, what document you have, and what the overseas authority actually requires. For Bradford documents, verification may be available through HEDD, direct verification with the University, or digital sharing through Gradintelligence, depending on the case.

University of Bradford verification routes

1) HEDD verification

For many third-party checks, post-2003 University of Bradford awards can be verified through HEDD. HEDD states that online degree data verification can be used to check whether the candidate is a current or past student, the award obtained, the grade attained, and attendance dates. HEDD also states that a signed consent form is required.

2) Direct verification with the University

The University of Bradford also offers electronic verification directly. The University states that an electronic verification can show the student’s name, date of birth, programme start and end dates, award achieved, classification, and date of award. For graduates from 2003 onwards, requests and signed consent forms should be emailed to MyBradford@bradford.ac.uk. For historic requests before 2003, the University directs users to its online store.

3) Digital award documentation via Gradintelligence sharing

For transcripts, HEAR, and related digital academic records, Gradintelligence is also important. The University states that students who graduated from December 2007 onwards have been sent registration details for Gradintelligence, which allows them to view and share their University transcript, European Diploma Supplement, and HEAR securely. The University also states that final HEAR access and sharing are available through Gradintelligence.

Solicitor authentication and solicitor certification

For overseas use, many authorities do not simply want a loose printout. They want a document path that is clear, credible, and professionally checked.

At Ginkgo Advisory, we do more than a basic “certified true copy of a printout presented to me” approach.

Where appropriate, we can assist with:

  • reviewing the document route first
  • checking whether HEDD, University direct verification, or Gradintelligence sharing is the stronger route
  • carrying out solicitor authentication and solicitor certification after proper supporting verification steps
  • certifying documents with wording that reflects a more robust authenticity trail where the evidence supports it

This is an important difference. Many providers simply certify a printout shown to them. Our approach is more careful. We aim to build the certification around the actual verification route, so the document package is stronger and more useful for overseas submission.

UK Apostille and embassy legalisation

After solicitor certification, the next step may be UK Apostille from the FCDO, followed by embassy legalisation / attestation if the destination country requires it.

Ginkgo Advisory can help with:

  • document route review
  • solicitor authentication
  • solicitor certification
  • FCDO Apostille
  • 2 working days UK apostille in suitable cases
  • embassy legalisation / attestation
  • international courier coordination

This helps reduce the risk of using the wrong document at the wrong stage.

Transcripts and HEAR

Bradford’s own guidance makes clear that transcript and HEAR access may depend on the year of graduation and the platform used. The University states that final transcripts are released electronically following graduation through Gradintelligence, and that students graduating from December 2007 onwards are generally able to use that platform to view and share their documents securely. For older records, physical or electronic copies may need to be ordered through the University’s store instead.
